Rebecca Daugherty

REBECCA DAUGHERTY began kayaking by building a wooden kayak so she could paddle out to islands to paint and draw. She quickly realized there was a lot more to kayaking than easy transportation and has been learning, refining her skills and paddling in a variety of conditions since. In 2017 she and her husband paddled 625 miles of the coast of Maine on a 55-day exploration and painting trip. Rebecca has been a Registered Maine Sea Kayak Guide since 2010, is an ACA L3 Coastal Kayak instructor, and currently owns Sea Kayak Stonington with her husband Michael Daugherty in Stonington, Maine. She is a patient instructor who loves to see paddlers gain skills and confidence and share her enthusiasm for kayaking and coastal Maine.
