This is a four-day course.
Join professional photographer Tyler Fields for a four-day workshop photographing the iconic Eggemoggin Reach Regatta (ERR) in Brooklin, Maine. The ERR is the capstone classic yachting event for the Northeast and includes many of the finest wooden boats featured in the pages of WoodenBoat Magazine. From a private chase-boat, students will have the opportunity to photograph the fleet as they sail along the spectacular Maine coast.
Photographing classic yachts on water can be challenging. Continually changing lighting and environmental conditions offer unique opportunities for photographers to capture dramatic images, but success can be difficult to achieve. A regular contributor to WoodenBoat Magazine, Tyler Fields comes to our campus to teach a unique workshop centered around the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta, Camden feeder race, and WoodenBoat waterfront. The four-day workshop will cover the complete process from choosing the right gear, camera basics, understanding exposure and composition, through the final post processing workflow. In both classroom sessions and time on the water, this workshop will help photographers of all skill level improve their photography.
Students are required to bring their own digital cameras, necessary accessories, and a computer or tablet for editing.
