This is a five-day course.
So many times we get asked if there is the opportunity to stay “a few more days” to finish a BYO boat. While we don’t have the space for students to work after their course every week, we have decided to open up a classroom near the end of the season for just that reason. Join, John Staub, who has been teaching BYO classes for years, in getting it all wrapped up. For those that don’t have space at home to get the final details finished or want the extra time with an instructor to install all the bits and pieces, this is the class for you.
For this course, John will talk with you beforehand, see what model boat you started building, get together the punch list for completion and discuss what the goals are. If you built your “BYO” boat this year, you can store at the school from the end of your build class to the punch list course for free! This course will also be perfect for those that built a CLC or other BYO have been storing in garage or shed and finally want to get it in the water. Show up with the hull and we will get it done together!
Install seats, sand and second epoxy coat your hull, put on the cargo hold downs, install rowing stations or sliding seats. Take the time to get sails rigged, whatever you need to get on the water.
Students should contact the instructor ahead of time so we can have the appropriate materials on hand.
