This is a three-day course, starting Friday and ending Sunday
Join Graham McKay, the Executive Director of Lowell’s Boatshop (Amesbury, MA), in partnership with the non-profit youth development organization, Rocking the Boat for a unique, hands-on experience. Students will participate in a series of traditional wooden boat construction and restoration projects ranging from sparmaking and fitting floor timbers to building a center console. This course takes place at Rocking the Boat’s boatbuilding shop in Hunts Point along the banks of the Bronx River. This is a hands-on course covering elements of boatbuilding with the intent of teaching all around skills that are used in the overall process of boatbuilding. Students are encouraged to come with small projects and/or questions about a current or future project. You don’t want to miss it!
Class runs 9am-5pm, Fri.-Sun. Lunch is included on site.
