Did you ever want to build a boat with folks from your community? Are you already doing that work and want to figure out how to do it better? This class is for you. Led by Joe Youcha, a co-founder of the Teaching with Small Boat’s Alliance (TWSBA) with over 30 years experience teaching with small boats, you’ll learn program design, assessment, partnership development and hands-on teaching techniques. By the end of the class, you’ll have built a planning tool you can use back home. Along with stretching your brain, you’ll also get your hands dirty building stuff. Depending upon the makeup of the class, we’ll either build a full-sized skiff or large-scale sailing models, along with several smaller projects and exercises.
If you’re teacher wanting to build, or a builder wanting to teach, there’s a place for you in this class.
