Join Graham McKay, the Executive Director of Lowell’s Boatshop (Amesbury, MA), in partnership with the non-profit youth development organization, Rocking the Boat for a unique, hands-on experience. Students will participate in a series of traditional wooden boat construction and restoration projects ranging from sparmaking and fitting floor timbers to building a center console. This course takes place at Rocking the Boat’s boatbuilding shop in Hunts Point along the banks of the Bronx River. This is a hands-on course covering elements of boatbuilding with the intent of teaching all around skills that are used in the overall process of boatbuilding.
