Building the Plymouth Rock'r
A great introduction to woodworking and boatbuilding
- Bob Fuller—June 26– July 2
This course is a great way to get started in woodworking and boatbuilding! Over the course of the week, you will learn basic woodworking skills and introductory boat building skills all while building your own Plymouth Rock'r. The Rock'r is the creation of boatbuilder and course instructor Bob Fuller, and up until now, was only available from his company, South Shore Boatworks. The Rock'r is a pretty authentic little dory and students will get to experience beveling a stem, planking and cutting bevels. You will also learn how to use hand and power tools. When the dust settles, you will have a wonderful rocking boat for the aspiring sailor or maybe leave the rocking feet off and use the boat as a decorative piece around your home or camp.
The Rock'r is built from a combination of Mahogany, Pine, Okoume plywood. Material cost depends on the finish, but should be around $250.00- $300.00
Designed by Bob Fuller in 1990. Inspired by the traditional banks dory
