CHARLOTTE

The 50' schooner CHARLOTTE is Nat Benjamin’s design #49. Lofting and construction began in the winter of 2003-04 and she was launched on September 15, 2007. CHARLOTTE was built using traditional plank-on-frame construction with sustainably harvested South American hardwoods, black locust, and some North American hardwoods. This gorgeous schooner carries 1,330 sq ft of sail in her four lowers and can also fly a gaff topsail and a fisherman staysail. An 80-hp Cummins diesel provides ample auxiliary power. Her accommodations are set up for safe and comfortable cruising with eight berths, a large main saloon for dining and relaxing, a sea going galley, navigation station, two heads, and plenty of storage.
