BUILD YOUR OWN LAPSTRAKE CANOE

Imagine a boat so light that you can put it on your shoulder and stroll casually down a wooded trail, carry it to a hidden lake or stream, and paddle it with no effort. A safe, double-paddle canoe for all ages, the 26lb Sassafras is a fun, satisfying project for a family to build. Using marine plywood and epoxy, mahogany trim, and fiberglass cloth on the bottom all result in a good-looking, sturdy canoe guaranteed to turn heads and bring years and years of pleasure. Choose between a 12' and 14' design.
