FAMILY CRUISING
On board the 50' gaff-headed sloop VELA.
with HAVILAH HAWKINS
Six adults and children are invited to join Capt. Havilah Hawkins and his crew for an exciting week aboard this magnificent sloop. Everyone will board VELA on Sunday evening and return to the WoodenBoat waterfront on Friday, disembarking after breakfast on Saturday. As new crew members, you’ll experience the joys of independence on the water while learning basic rowing, sailing, and navigation skills. The emphasis will be on living on a boat simply and exploring the magical setting of Maine’s coast as unobtrusively as possible, while gaining confidence, independence, and common sense on the water.
