When STEVE STONE was 10 years old, his dad came home from the office one day with a small Laser sailboat. From that day forward, he’s felt the yearning to be out in the wind on the water. By a stroke of luck, Steve was introduced to a boatbuilder in New Zealand who showed him the pleasures and grace derived from messing about in well-designed wooden boats. Now a resident of Brooklin, Maine, he explores the waters and islands along this beautiful coastline. As an instructor, Steve works to patiently pass along the skills needed to become comfortable on the water and in harmony with the boat and the elements. When Steve is not teaching sailing, he helps organizations make the transition to new technologies and new business models, and he produces web-based films on sailing and boatbuilding.
