BILL THOMAS grew up paddling the rivers and coast of North and South Carolina, playing in the mountains and trying to avoid getting a real job. He has been a professional woodworker for over 30 years, operating his own shop for most of that time. Bill specializes in designing and building custom cabinets and furniture. Being an avid sea kayaker, he could not help adding boatbuilding to the mix about 20 years ago. So,in addition to furniture, Bill now builds and designs sea kayaks, canoes, and other small boats for customers throughout the United States. Bill has taught woodworking and boatbuilding in various technical schools and in his own shop. In addition to time spent working in the shop, Bill, a Registered Maine Guide, teaches and guides on water kayak classes. After spending a few years exploring the Chesapeake Bay, Bill now lives, works, and plays in Maine.
